Snickers Update Part Trois

So she had her followup appointment at the vet this morning and A took her. She hasn't really been eating or drinking well since she came home from her weekend at the vet, and has been puking up the antibiotic pill (lovely yellow foamy mess). Anyway, they gave her an antibiotic injection as an alternative, and sub-cutaneous fluids to help fix her

I'm the worst one for giving pills to pets. So I stick the pill in a chunk of meat before feeding. They don't bother with chewing, so... :-) You might consider a bit of raw chicken liver with a slit in it, if you ever feed the antibiotics by mouth again.

I've fed raw meats to my dogs, since learning about Natural Rearing, for the last several years with good results. When sick I gave them chicken broth or cut up chicken livers into small pieces and run a bit of hot water over the pieces. It makes a broth that way, so they could choose between flavored water or meat. I also feed raw egg and I imagine a cat would enjoy that. Once again a small amount of hot water cooks the egg, if necessary.

Thankfully it's not been a problem to get the pill down her, it has just been a bodily reaction to the particular formula of antibiotic. We did put one pill in mayo (suggestion of the vet tech) and distracted her with actual tuna too.

Thanks for the well wishes, I'm sure she'll be back to her old self if we can get Precious out of the house for good sometime soon.
