I would get them ready now and send the out of country ones now since it usually takes longer for the international mail. The in-country ones can be mailed out by your FH a day or two before you come back. That way, you will be home and able to deal with the RSVPs that could be coming in.

agreed with sakira_ka on timing.

i have some suggestions to make about your invites, if they aren't finalized. i write and edit for a living, so of course that's where my mind immediately goes :) let me know if i can be of service!

eerrrrrrr, alas, they are finalized. I'm certainly not an editor, I hope the mistakes aren't *that* glaring! I haven't noticed them yet. ^_^;;;;

Now is way way way too early. July is also too early, although the international ones can be sent out in July. I got married in October and I think I sent international invitations at 10-12 weeks. 8 weeks is standard for a reason! If you send them now, people will forget about them, or not remember if they RSVPed. Few people would be able to RSVP right away because they don't know work or school schedules for October yet.

BUT it's always good to have them ready in advance! 2/3 of my envelopes got lost in the mail on the way to my calligrapher, so I was happy I didn't wait until the last minute. :-)

Also, did you send save-the-dates? That will give out of towners plenty of time to make arrangements. If not, you can just send a little email to everyone you think would like to book travel with hotel block info, closest airports, etc.
