At this point, I would skip the STDs, since they technically aren't necessary at all. They're just considered a courtesy to give people some advance notice (and by advance I mean 6-12 months) about the wedding if you're having a lot of out-of-town guests or getting married on a date that people are likely to have conflicting plans, such as a holiday weekend. I think doing an STD now and an invitation in May or June would be a moot point. Save yourself the money and the stress, and just remove it from your to-do list. :)
Your new dress is beautiful! It fits so well with the pics you posted of your venue and flowers. I think you made the right decision.
Hmm. Most of our guests are local, but the day is August 4th, which is a long weekend. I'd like to think that wouldn't be conflicting but if someone was planning something big for that weekend, I wanted to give fair notice. But I don't disagree with it being so close to the actual invite. I was just planning on doing email STDs if I did them anyway.
And thanks! I now need to sell the old dress, but I'm finally happy with my gown!
Love your whole vibe! The barn is fantastic. I also love your CHIFFON gowns! Chiffon is the best! So floaty and dreamy; perfect for wedding dresses. Chiffon and organza for life. ;)
I've been wanting an organza or chiffon gown pretty much the entire time I've been engaged. I don't know what happened when I went and bought the first dress. >.
Thanks! It'll either be entirely made of baby's breath or a mixture of that and wildflowers (what we're using on the centerpieces), so I'm pretty excited. It was a detail I hadn't thought of originally and the florist suggested it. Because it's not something that's gonna break the bank, I can't wait to use it!
Love the dress and the way the overlay at the hem extends out to make a trim/border look. My dress does that too and it's one of my favorite parts of it.
