Ideas for Father Daughter Dance...and other wedding ideas

My dad and I have a horrible relationship, but I am a very traditional person so I still want to honor the dad he was before I turned 18.  We both cannot dance at all and he lives out of state so taking dancing lessons together would not be an option.  Are there any other ideas for the father daughter dance without being a father daughter dance??

Theres nothing saying you need to be able to dance to do the father daughter dance. Most of the weddings I've seen/been to, the dance ended up just being the "prom sidestep" anyways.

Agreed. My dad and I just swayed back and forth like middle-schoolers...haha until the end when he dipped and twirled me. He insisted on dipping my sister at her wedding too - it's his famous move.

Or like, when you were little did you ever do the thing where you stood on your dads feet and "danced" with him that way? Thats sort of what most father daughter dances remind me of...just kind of moving back and forth to the music, not really "dancing"

Haha, I do this with my husband (not really dancing, just goofing off around the house) when he is wearing his steel toed boots...it's the only time I can, otherwise I would crush his feet, lol.

I learned all about how weddings can be so much less expensive moving them a few weeks back.

I had wanted my wedding on Friday, October 21st of this year, b/c it would have been my dad's birthday. However, that date was beyond our price range. Moving it to Saturday morning, November 12th, saved us literally thousands of dollars!

See and i have noticed that, I would only save about a grand with the venue I have chosen, but I am debating on if I am going to move it to November or not.
