Oooh that inn/spa that you're staying at looks so nice!!
For our officiant we found a humanist lady in our area who is great! We're non-religious and like the ideas of humanism. When we did a quick internet search we were surprised at how many came up. Could be something to look into? They seem to be the most gay-friendly officiants out there.
Were not having a wedding party either - my brother and my fiance's sister are going to be our witnesses who sign the papers.

Ahh, yes. We're both pretty religious so we'd like to have a religious officiant. The destination wedding hurts our chances, as does the fact that she's a Quaker (no ministers), and I'm Presbyterian (no gay marriage) so we'd have to find a UCC or Episcopalian minister who would marry us without doing premarital counseling or requiring more than our budget (about $300) allows. There is a member here in weddingplans who is also a celebrant, and I keep thinking that would be a good idea because we could always find one comfortable praying over us as well as willing to do a gay couple.
She came out after moving to college. He lives in another country and rarely visits. It's easy to hide the evidence when he is here. She wanted to have a job lined up before she told him, thus ensuring that she wouldn't have to end up at home with a really angry Muslim dad. (Yeah, that's part of the problem.)
Does he know you guys are getting married?
Not yet. My family don't know, either. We were waiting for a nice, quiet time to break the news. Like the middle of summer after everyone has finished all of their exams and has enjoyed a lovely week on the beach.

Having her partners dad play says wonderful. I am confused though he does not know she is gay? Does he know you guys are getting married?

I love the idea for your dresses (just read it on your other post - I think you posted it before I joined the community!)

We'll have cake for you! (Or you could swing by and have a piece yourself, if you're in the neighborhood!)
