What to register for?

FH and I would like to build our own home one day. As such, while I've never been okay asking for money, we know that cash would be the best gift for us. Gifts, of course, are just icing on the cake - we really just want people to come and enjoy our celebration ( Read more... )

besides cash, i really really want home depot/lowe's gift cards. our house needs new windows, doors and bathroom renovations, among other things.

I would LOVE giftcards - especially enough giftcards for new kitchen cabinets!!!! But that's not going to happen for us with our smaller wedding size LOL.

Yep-yep, we too would like HD/L gift cards since we need new windows, new screen door, bathroom renovations, and closet doors.

We are actually registered at Lowe's. I know people are not going to actually buy some of the stuff on our registry, but hopefully it gives the hint that gift cards from here would be nice. :)

3. For my bridal shower, my mom and dad got me the Swarovski crystal champagne flutes that I had wanted since I was a little girl. They also got us the Dyson that we wanted. And then for our wedding gift, They got us Premium Passes to Disneyland (where we had the wedding) and paid for the bedroom furniture we wanted from Pottery Barn. And They paid for the wedding... that was pretty nice, too. Other than that, we only got checks and gift cards, outside of the gifts we registered for.

I'm trying to remember your honeymoon plans, how about Traveler's Joy or Honeyfund?

We already live together and have stuff, so our BB&B registry is really just upgrades - towels, pots and pans, sheets - things which we already have, but are worn and ready for charity or single friends. We aren't having any showers, so it cut down on the number of things we needed to register for and we focused more on the honeymoon since most of our guests are self-professed computer geeks.

We're going on a road trip to San Fran, Portland, and Seattle over New Year's. Saving for the big vacation this time next year after Eric takes the bar...
We're upgrading things too. Eric's the baby of 4 so we have LOTS of incomplete sets of stuff fro his siblings before they got new stuff when they got married!

Gotta love hand-me-downs, I have a glass measuring cup that was an old friend's grandmothers! I've had it for about 15 years now!

2. I really really wanted my Kitchenaid mixer, and got it. We also got a nice Crock Pot, quesadilla maker (fun for parties), and a really nice coffee pot, which my husband uses every day.

3. My great-aunt works for a spice store, and she gave us a huge spice box, filled with all kinds of fun spices, as well as The Joy of Cooking cookbook. We use it a lot and it was really very cool.

Another friend of the family got us a beautiful heavy blanket for cuddling on the couch. We got a dog two weeks after the wedding, who commandeered it. :)

The other "fun" things we registered for were a new tent, sleeping bags, and other camping stuff, as well as board games and video games.
