[Knux's Relationship post is Here if you're not sure if the lock effects your character.]

I suppose everyone ends up asking stupid questions on here sooner or later.

So how would you define a friendship?

{minato@d}, when did i get so many friends?, needs a shoulder pat, needs space, misses his bffs, !discedo, what is family?, maybe minato needs to blow him up again, sonic wouldn't put up with this, deny and repress, knucklehead, needs headpats too, secretive echidna is secretive

Friendship? What's the trouble, Pardner?

Not trouble exactly.

I just got into an argument with someone.

You make it sound like you were worried about me.

[Flandre still sounds depressed, but she tries not to let it creep into her voice. She only partially succeeds.]

Friends are...people that want to be with you, and talk to you, and are nice to be around. They smile, and remember your name, and aren't afraid.

[She has a rather...odd definition of friendship, yes.]

[But it's one he can understand better than some.]

But why do they want to be with someone? Do you help them? Or do they think you're nice? Or -

[Wait did she say..?]

People are scared of you?

I don't know. They like you.

[Flandre pauses--and her voice becomes quiet.]

Yes. They...remember me as a monster first. And then maybe my name, second or third.

...it's better here, but...it still hurts.

So it doesn't always matter how useful one friend is to another?

I suppose it depends on how you define useful.

Friendships or allies...it's just someone that is reliable and you can depend on.

What if someone who's your friend and ally helped you a great deal, and doesn't want anything in return?

Doesn't that make you less dependable?

I wouldn't think so.

Perhaps it's their duty to help others without asking anything in return.

[voice] Should Knuckles be worried? wears_a_torc February 23 2010, 15:19:18 UTC
I know.

It's something that came up in conversation and I wanted to get some more opinions on it.
