omgosh I haven't cried so much after reading a fic in soooooo long! gah! you're fucking brilliant, this idea omg you are so awesome. my first born, consider it yours lol
Omg! I'm so sorry you cried :( /hands you tissues! But thank you so much! hahahah this idea is one I've kind of thought about for a while, but never had the guts to try until now. I'm so glad you liked it :') /takes it away on an adventure!
I am actually crying right now. properly crying because I was so truly heartbroken by the development, the reality of Sungmin's "past" and his true pain of accepting that it just wasn't real. I did feel that maybe the explanation was a bit left of field ie. out of nowhere, but not enough to detract at all from the story. Truly a beautiful piece of writing.
Also, I wasn't sure if it was a deliberate hint at the instability of the Island, but Yunho was an electrician and then he was a doctor and then an electrician again?
Thank you (but also not so much, because I am a wuss and love happy endings) for such a riveting experience, beyond mere storytelling and more like carrying us through a lifetime, sightseeing. I am still tearing up a little, haha.
Don't cry! /fixes your heart. Well, we all have this ideal reality that we wish were true, don't we? We just know the line between reality and the dream (omg Inception!) Okay I'm not going to lie because yes, the explanation was kind of thrown in at the last second and I'm aware it doesn't make (much) sense but nautisch said I should put one in anyway and I would've made it much more dramatic and more plausible except I had no time /rambles.
Sorry! Um, yeah, that wasn't meant to happen either :/ That's just a discrepancy that we both missed... /quietly goes to fix it up. (Thanks for picking up on it!)
I'm sorry! I just couldn't see a happy ending to this. It was either he realised the truth and got over it or he... um, died, which I think you'd hate me more for :( Don't tear up too much! But thank you for such a kind review ♥
Hahaha, I don't think that'll be happening, sorry! This fic was actually intended to be my last fic for fandom, so no fluff from me. I'm a sucker for angst anyway

I wanted to write this before I lost momentum but it’s really hard to be coherent when there are all these thoughts flying around my head about it but here goes.
Sungmin’s world…felt like it was encased in saran wrap. It was a place where everything looked like it was real, felt like it was real, but then there’s Sungmin placing his hand on the transparent surface and pushing out.
The lines from the Memories book as well as Donghae questioning their existence was incredibly haunting and even knowing that they (as well as other things in it) were foreshadowing tools, I still gasped and was in disbelief when I reached the end.
Even reaching the revealing ending, I still had to backtrack and see what was the last thing Donghae did because you created such a wonderful and compelling universe it’s so difficult to believe that none of it was real
( ... )
Oh... Oh my God. Thank you so much for this comment! I honestly love your stories and to receive praise from you is just too kind :')
Basically, yes! His world is kind of contained, but that actually describes it perfectly, him pushing against it until he breaks free.
That scene with Donghae is one of my favourites, ngl. It was a foreshadowing event but you know, after watching Inception and The Matrix, you have to wonder yourself if what you're experiencing is real as well. I'm glad the end still surprised you, though you can go back and pick out the hints!
Ahhh, I can't say much to the rest of your comment because it just makes me feel all nice and warm :') I'm so happy you believed that Sungmin's world was real, especially because he did! And the little details are always my favourite, so I couldn't resist making the boys, boys (such as Hyukjae falling off his chair :') )
Haha, tbh, I'm actually quite taken aback that someone knows who I am! *_*
And yes, I was totally picturing something along the lines of Inception/Matrix question of reality but I refrained from mentioning it because some people tend to get really...touchy about the issue. Good to see you're not one of those!
I was thinking about it some more the other day (so lame I know) and I think part of what made things so disturbingly eerie was the fact that even though Sungmin created this world, his figments were perfectally capable of functioning without him even to the point of formulating their own thoughts and actions. That was what really took me back and made me really wonder which reality was really, real.
And am I to understand this is one of your first fics? If so I really look forward to reading your next works!
D:! WHY! I really liked your fics but you don't seem to be writing much anymore...? That or I'm just really lazy with checking out the fic comms, orz

Omg that was so good, so well-done and carefully crafted and just thought out so well. I knew the story vaguely of course, since you pm-ed me, but to read it and watch it unfolding in front of me was amazing. I literally got chills at the part where Sungmin 'introduces' Hyukjae to Heechul and Heechul's like, there's no one there ;_____; and also at the part where Sungmin buries the Hyukjae and Donghae dolls.
Poor, poor Sungmin, my heart just ached so much for him ;____; his world on the island was so beautiful, so complete and perfect, and to have it all just be a figment of his imagination.
You did great on this, thank you so much for writing it! ♥
Thank you so much, Sheena ^___^ That says a lot to me especially since it was meant to be a surprise and you knew what would happen... and you still liked it! The scene with Hyukjae and Heechul is one of my favourites because it's just... everything, you know? It's the whole essence of this fic and the difference between Sungmin and the world. The end had to happen...
Sungmin needs to grow up! Stop being babied by his fantasy and cuddled by Hyukjae and Donghae :( He needs to FACE THE TRUTH. Okay idek why I'm saying this, but the idea that Sungmin's reality is too good to be true... is basically it. It's sad that his island is so perfect and it turns out to be part of his imagination, but, you know, it's also... It just can't be true, it's too perfect and unreal!
Oh my... this whole fic was absolutely brilliant. You have to read it twice to capture the meaning. A lot of it that you wrote, you passed it off as a simple description but your subtle slight of hand disguises the undercurrent that, unless you were looking for it, the reader wouldn't notice. And that, my dear, takes skill to pull off. A serious amount of skill that I envy and you just made this whole thing flow. The way you weaved the words together just hit the right nerves at the right time. I just... I have no more words for this. Absolutely brilliant.
Omg, thank you so much! I think that a lot of times, you have to read something twice to get it. Not just stories with a twist, but other books and such so you understand the characters more, their motivations and how they think, so I'm so happy you thought this deserved a second read! This comment is just too full of kind words that I'm sure I don't deserve, but thank you so much ♥ this honestly made my day :)
