I have been thinking about my parents today, so to get a glimpse of what is going on in their lives I cracked mom's e-mail. I learned that my father has had three major surgeries and needs at least one more.

I guess they don't want me to breathe my homo germs onto him.

As long as there have been people, adults have been leaving their family of origin to form their own family. Generally this has taken the form of getting married, having children, etc. There was a time, not too many generations ago, where that was the end of the original family. It's coming.

The day is coming where I will have to actually bite the bullet and come out to my parents. At that time I truly believe that we will permanently sever our ties.

It just hit me what a journey I have been on. Ever since we have met, Chris and I have been talking almost nonstop about life as a gay fundamentalist.
