And now that New Years' is out of the way, here's some old'd pictures.
But first, apologies for not being able to comment much on you guys' posts, I've been alternating between awfully busy, dead tired, and hopelessly braindead to go onto LJ (enough to talk crap on skype though, thanks for the the company
outofbrown: ever considered becoming a shrink?). I

I am very amused at your being thrilled at simple things I take for granted, like cats and driving on freeways! I think I watched about 10 episodes of Wolf's Rain way back when and liked it a lot...you might just enjoy it. Have fun in Cali.
PS: Mexican food is like...*so* good.

And well, a lot of people are thrilled at things I take for granted! Like um, uh... Asian food, curry powder and clean rooms... I think the freeway thing is exhilarating simply because the place is so big - any place does that to me really because it's hard to beat the second smallest country in Asia.
Point taken. Had Greek gyros today and sadly spilled a lot of it, but I insisted to my brother I gotta try Mexican before I go back.

is tuxedo cat a descriptive term or the actual breed? because if it's the latter, then...cats are awesome.
i might be in san francisco next saturday; did you still want to meet up?

Actually it's just a descriptive term if I'm not wrong - it's more like a fur colour pattern, like "tortoiseshell" or "colourpoint". You can have various breeds of cat with this colouring, although for some reason some people think it's also a cat breed... I doubt it. There's some cats like the Russian Blue that just don't come in this colour of course.
Ooh! So you will still be free, okay :D Great. I presume you'll be around Japantown... or some other part of SF? I'll be meeting pacificpikachu prolly on the 10th around Japantown, I'm not 100% sure what time though. It might clash, I'm not sure.
Would you be around in the morning? I don't mind having $caffeinated_drink with you and sound like a complete idiot for a while. :)

i usually gravitate to the polk st. area (russian hill or marina/nob hill) but japantown works for me too. i haven't been there in a while and i could use some reading material from kinokinuya to brush up on my japanese. there's a great crepe shop in the mall (1581 webster, close to the webster and post intersection), then there's a bakery with really, really good cakes, and a picturesque cafe in the mall with a fake waterfall (which also has good coffee), or if you're in the mood for mochi...

Out of curiosity whereabouts do you usually hang out? I'm entirely clueless... really everything here just seems impossibly huge, I'm used to living in such small spaces :v

I love tuxedo cats too - those paws could just kill me really, so cute and dainty. And it's the first time I've really touched a cat's pawpad - it's SO SOFT! Eeeee. I wish I could take her home. ;_;
Yeah, it's much wetter here, because the rain clouds sort of gather together and much precipitation happens on the windward side of the Cascades. On the east of that though (including Spokane and places like that) it's incredibly dry because of the rain shadow effect. The hilly contours are AWESOME though! I find it absolutely amazing that you can see rows of houses on slopes mingled with the pine trees and the sky and... *_*!!! It's amazing... even though I feel bad sometimes when the freeway seems to go through a forested area and it's probably causing fragmentation of the forest.
Ah, there's no reason why it HAS to be the 9th - it's just that I'll be there on the 8th evening but I'll be free the whole of the 9th. Turns out kazk will be in SF on the 10th... I'd probably be meeting ( ... )

Now I know that apart from penguins, cats are uber cute in "tuxedos" too. (Humans are usually awful in them though.)

I think she's a cat you'd find very agreeable - she is very polite and waits her turn, and doesn't get all loud and demanding even if she's hungry (like right now). Only if you go near the food bowl and she's hungry then she'll let you know (unless she's REALLY STARVING). She enjoys sitting at the window in a stately manner and quietly looking outside... but will play if you want to play with her.
OK, but sometimes she's so friendly she might rub against one's leg a tad too often.

JELLICLE CATS ARE TOO CUTE TO BE TRUE! I wouldn't mind such a even-tempered cat, except that my grandmother will flip because Chinese folks think it's inauspicious to have "white socks".
Haha, contrary to popular belief (my classmate says I look like an animal abuser... -__-), I actually get along with animals quite well. Not particularly averse to a couple of rubs, as long as I don't start sneezing.
First Sesse, now Lilian. You guys sure know how to make me envious :D

Washington is the wettest part of the country, but it's nice (and kinda rare) you get so much snow this year! Did you make snowmen and snowangels or have snowball fights and such? I know it sounds so kiddie-like. I used to love those things when I was in Canada though.
And the tuxedo cat is so cute! How old is she/he? I'm glad you're enjoying your America trip. And yes, Happy 09!!!

Yes, the snow was quite unexpected - many people just gave up going to work (if they weren't already on holiday late Dec) because of the snow. Unfortunately I didn't do those because there wasn't anyone to do it with really - and when I did try to make a snowball it wouldn't stick together so :(
She is! She's 7, my brother adopted her and I really don't know why her previous owners would abandon her at all :( Happy '09 to you too, hope it's good.
