I've just finished watching 'New Car Smell', the fourth episode of Homeland's second season. As in, literally minutes ago finished watching it. Not sure that now is the best time to attempt meta, but I HAVE ALL THE THOUGHTS and so... here goes!

This show BLOWS MY MIND TO SHREDS! I think it's better in terms of Breaking Bad with the plot, it just surprises me so much more. But both are amazing and I'm so glad is here to fill the BB void. WOW!!

Well this is my shipper heart speaking but they both have that love of danger, they both have fucked up pasts but they find with each other that understanding of the crap they've been through (and losses), they have an obvious attraction and chemistry, they have fun together and can just be themselves. IDK I just love them and want them to be happy together. But it's Homeland so I'm having fun on the ride!
You can post other entries...I think Brody is much better than Walt heh. At least I think there could be redemption for him. I always thought he'd turn double spy where he'd pretend to work with Nazir but work against him. Or who knows what else, we'll see.

At least I think there could be redemption for him. Ahh! But that's just thing. I don't WANT redemption for Walter. In fact, it's the very most LAST thing I want for him. And it's the very most last thing I think his storyline is about. In fact, I think it's always been about the OPPOSITE of that. It's been about the complete and utter deconstruction of his character to the point where he's almost no longer recognisable from the guy we met in episode one. So PLEASE!!! No redemption for Walter :)
What I mean with my Brody = Walter comparison was that they're both walking a VERRRRRY questionable moral line, and yet we viewers still retain the capacity to empathise with them/root for them. And in order to justify that empathy/support, we need to question our own morality. So, yeah, it wasn't a direct comparison, more a theoretical/intellectual one, which I still stand by, btw!

Take this episode for example: I mean, we didn't really get any answers. We already KNEW Brody was a terrorist in the making. We already KNEW the CIA were onto him. We already KNEW Carrie loved him. We already KNEW that his mates were getting suspicious. We already KNEW Carrie was unstable. We didn't really get the answers to any questions this episode. What we got was the opportunity to experience the fall out. What's going to happen to Carrie? She directly disobeyed an order, but she's not technically CIA either so... does it matter? How's Dana going to handle this? What is the fall out going to mean for her? Is Brody going to be shipped to Guantanamo Bay?I just crossed all that out because I've realised on re-read that at no stage did you say ( ... )

I don't exactly "ship" Brody/Carrie, but I do love seeing those two together.
I loved how Carrie was enjoying her vindication in "New Car Smell".

Hey, I'm interested to know... do we think her blowing the op at the end of the episode and having Brody arrested was her jumping to the wrong conclusion about him having made her? I guess we'll find out next episode how it's being viewed by Saul etc, but I guess my initial opinion was that she'd crossed the line (again). In hindsight, I'm seeing other possibilities (ie. that she was right). I DON'T KNOW!! Haha! And I'm impatient!!

And yes, I want all the Dana/Finn interactions, please!

P.S. I ship Finn/Dana too, which I guess is a step up from Carrie/Brody in the 'fcked up OTPs' dept, but still. Imagine what these two are gonna be when everyone learns the truth about Brody! AAH.

Finn/Dana. All the Finn/Dana please!
