*crosses fingers and hopes you finish in sqrt(#entrants)th position again frequently, in tournaments with at least 100 players, and ideally the Main Event*
Decided to focus on just not donking off my chips early with top pair and making it to the levels where I'm sure I have an edge. Got a very good table. Donked off all my chips with top pair. FUCKFUCKFUCK. It's not the money that hurts. It's the shame.
Heh. I've thought, done and felt the very same. Thanks, I lol'd.
Looking at the visual replay of that chess match reminds me of your last comment on my LJ about Marc Laimon as a coach. I don't know anything about chess beyond the very basics but even I can see the beauty of how Ylon played that game, always on the offensive, and keeping his opponent one step behind pretty much wire-to-wire.
11.Be3 looks like the fatal error. The thematic continuation was 11.Nb5! since the b-pawn is poisoned. After something like 11...Qb8 12.d5 Nxb4 13.Qa4 Qe5+ 14.Kd1 Kd8 15.Nxa7 White is on top. The way it actually went, Schwartz's punishment of White's lemon was just about perfect on every move. The GM never had a chance.
