-------------------------------------------------------Event 03 $1000 No-Limit Holdem - after abandoning every chip I put in the pot for the first two hours, I got it all in w JJ on a flop of T-9-8, and was insta-called in the two-spots behind me. First guy QJo, second guy 88. Turn is a Q (yay!). River an 8. ugh. Out before first break, as almost always.

Event 04 $1500 Omaha Hi-Low - Here is a game that I am absolutely positively sure I play very well. And I ran ice cold. Of the nine hours I played (somehow), I made a profit in exactly one of them. Would've avoided a day 2 schlepp but for I ran so cold, I couldn't even lose chips that badly. Very sad that this is the only low $ O8 this year and I had no chance to do anything. Also they took out the 78/O8 tournament for no apparent reason when the schedule abounds with 5pm lacunae.

Event 07 $2500 Triple Draw - Here's another game I'm sure I play very well. Never made much. Had a very soft table. First hand I sat down, a guy shows down a 98765. Good sign he couldn't read a straight, better sign that somehow he actually got to those five cards. Jerrod estimated his contribution to the game to be at least -6 bets / hour. Other players not too good either. I kept drawing to 7432 and bonking. Out by the sixth hour. Now I was super bummed as my two favorite games were gone without a fight.

Event 08 $1500 No-Limit Holdem - Next day I woke up with a new attitude and said, "I'm going to go down there and give my best to the donkament." Even put on a collared shirt. Decided to focus on just not donking off my chips early with top pair and making it to the levels where I'm sure I have an edge. Got a very good table. Donked off all my chips with top pair. FUCKFUCKFUCK. It's not the money that hurts. It's the shame.

Event 12 $1500 Limit Holdem - Skipped the next few tournaments and played limit holdem. I don't play it much now, but as I started to play, I recalled that I've played many thousands of hours of this game and I'm not bad. First table was soft, even with Ted Forrest and Chris Ferguson. Doubled up the first level. In limit. Seriously. After that I was always above average stack and enjoying myself. Never had annoying opponents. Ran good for awhile, but then ran cold for two or three hours around level 13. A couple more average hours and I think I might've even made the final table, but alas. Anyway, no complaints. When I woke up on Day 2, I had a hunch that I would finish 25th, and I did.

On a side note, before Day 2, I looked up the other players at my table on HendonMob to see how much experience they had. I then looked up the player on my right, Ylon Schwartz, in my chess games database, because I had heard he was a good player. On a hunch, I decided to see what he plays against 1. e4, and the very first game I reviewed was awesome:
