Life is tenacious, isn't it? I'm always amazed when I see a plant grow up through an asphalt driveway.

This thing really is tenacious. There's no soil in the carpet and minimal moisture because of the air conditioning and yet it somehow managed to grow. I really love the little thing and I'd be crushed if it died, which is why I'll leave it alone. With my luck, I'd kill it with kindness.

It thrives on neglect.

Some things just do.

Great post. Very vivid.

Maybe I ought to neglect the others more often. I've fiddled with their soil, transplanted them, Bought special fertilizers and watering systems for them...and they die. This thing I remember to check on only when the altar gets dusty or needs changing out and it's still there.

Thanks for reading, it means a lot to me!

A plant growing in the carpet! Hee!

Seriously, my cats destroyed my airplane plants over the years. I don't know why they must nom on them, but they must be good.

I haven't figured it out either. I bought them their own rye and catnip gardens but they wouldn't touch them. Cacti (even the ones with thorns) and succulents they absolutely adore.

Yup, it's a pretty stubborn plant. I can't believe it's still there, living on practically nothing. Thanks for coming by and reading, I appreciate it.

I love plants in the house, but I like a little more moderation in them. Though I can't keep a one of them alive so I guess its a moot point. When my grandmother lived with me she insisted in very large plants being in my living room and kitchen. I think my biggest problems with it all was that there was no room to sit down and she habitually over watered them and they rotted out my hardwood flooring.

I loved reading about this little jade plant and how it earned it's place on your temple room. :)

I don't want to be crowded out but I just love the smell and sight of green growing things. One of my favorites, a plant called Swedish ivy, apparently doesn't live out here at all. I never could find one. All our plants (the ones that survive my newly acquired black thumb) have their own coasters so that the water can't get into the flooring.

I looked this morning; it's still there and it's put out another stalk. Whenever things get tough, I just look at the little guy and keep going.

Thanks for reading!
