I just made my great-grandmother's potato salad for lunch. My little local Tesco had neither white vinegar (who doesn't carry white vinegar?!) nor red potatoes so I was forced to substitute cider vinegar and white potatoes. and yeah, who doesn't carry white vinegar?? isn't that standard vinegar??

I know! what is that about?! They had every type of vinegar but 'plain'! and this was one of those little tiny convenience stores where you expect them to only have the basics. what kind of country have I chosen to live in?
