I just made my great-grandmother's potato salad for lunch. My little local Tesco had neither white vinegar (who doesn't carry white vinegar?!) nor red potatoes so I was forced to substitute cider vinegar and white potatoes. So, the salad doesn't taste quite like home. Though, luckily I was able to find some streaky bacon so it doesn't taste completely wrong. Still, while it doesn't taste like home, accompanied by cucumber slices, strawberries, and iced tea, it does taste like summer.
