madripoor_rose's post on "New Amsterdam" makes me want to watch the series all over again. Or at least curl up with my New York songs and write fic. Weird since it's really not favorite city, per se. I haven't visited it in over twenty years, so the New York I saw is long gone for the most part. It is still my favorite town in classic movies though

What about taking the photo as metaphor and not so literal? Someone who feels burned out, but in reality has plenty of energy but they just can't see it through their despair?
