Finished baby quilt !!
I was finally able to visit gojenngo, her hubby wildsky and their new baby girl Lydia Grace (who appears to be LJ-less at this time). LG (otherwise known as Mugsy) was born on January 9. I finally managed to finish her quilt over the President's Day weekend, so I guess that's not too late. She can't really use it yet, 'cause you're not supposed to put any bedding ( Read more... ) -

Hasbro is shutting down yet another highly popular web-based Scrabble game. Now under fire is Scrabulous which had a really spiffy Web version which would notify your opponent via email, and a Facebook application. I don't understand why Hasbro doesn't see this as complimentary to their physical game. Apparently there are some fee-based Scrabble ( Read more... ) -
Google announces Knol
In an attempt to compete with Wikipedia, Google has
announced a new service called "Knol". Supposedly the
name means "a unit of knowledge". So glad Google named
this critical bit of trivia for us.

Back from vacation
I've been meaning to pop online all week and post a brief entry. I was out of town for the first two weeks of December in Florida. I spoke at a disk encryption conference in Orlando and then took several days to visit the various theme parks. New toy!
When I use American Express, I accumulate rewards points. Well, it had been quite some time since I redeemed them. So I did some browsing and got myself a nifty toy. Bad dragon mother
I had known my bearded dragons were small for their age, but I didn't really think about it until one of the three began to look seriously FLAT. I located a specialist vet and mad an appointment. Took all three of them in for a checkup. Turns out that they are all seriously deficient in calcium due to my using the wrong basking light for nearly two ( Read more... ) -

Police happenings at P&R
I got out of class tonight and a classmate drove me to the South Bellevue Park & Ride where I had caught the bus this morning. There were ten police cars blocking all of the exits. They would not allow me to stop and pick up my car. When I asked how long it would be if I waited, the officer said it could be ten minutes or two hours. I don't know ( Read more... )
