I've never been a fan of painting my nails, or dying my hair, or any of that salon-type-stuff.  It's just not my scene.  It is beyond me.  I'm not a girly-girl, I'm not a princess, I'm not at all image-conscious in the traditional sense.  I'm just me and that happens to be female and has very little to do with what I choose to wear or put myself

Sounds like we are a bit similar in this regard. You could say I am a late bloomer with regards to girly fashions. ;)

I have never into painting my nails. Expect, within the past few years I've taken to painting my toe nails. Not salon quality but I can live with it. Also much easier than fingers, I would imagine.

Also, I made it all the way through college without wearing eye makeup (except on special occasions). But about 6 years ago it became a big deal for me. And, within the last year I've taken to getting auburn highlights in my hair.

I hope your dog is feeling better. It's hard watching pets grow old.

Argh. Yesterday I tried wearing make-up to CSUC orientation song-and-dance... it was melted off by 10am and I looked like a freak. I just didn't KNOW IT until the end of the day when I happened to see a mirror. It has not been the week for me and girly-stuff. I'm not even trying anymore.

And my pup's doing the same. She had a vet visit and gets to take another one tomorrow. No answers yet. Just FYI in case you have pets, Mangrove Veterinary is awesome and very helpful. They've got long hours, friendly staff and docs, and they take care of her (and us) without *trying* to rack up the bills. Really appreciative of them right now. =c)

Yes, I take my cat (Tobin) to Mangrove vet. When my previous cat became ill (this was 13 years ago) and had to be put to sleep, they were very gentle with her and us. I was very touched when they sent me a condolence card in the mail the same week. Mangrove Vet ftw \o/
