I opened a dreamwidth account. Mostly it is just a mirror of LJ, but I figured I would grab my name in case there is a mass exodus. Still plan on using LJ primarily for now.

Internet service was restored last night, everything appears to be working normally now. Some mail was definitely lost, if you sent mail in the last couple of days and are waiting for a response please resend.

FIOS is out, so I have no internet. No ETA for a fix. Until further notice, the only email address that will work for me is gmail.

Do it yourself eyeglasses for people in developing nations. This is easily one of the coolest things I have seen all year.

As usual, before leaving the house this morning I took a quick look at the forecast, to make sure it was not completely suicidal to ride today. I should really start checking the wind reports too, not just temperature and precipitation.

Yesterday evening, I finally replaced my old, barely-working phone with a new one. While I was at the store, the sales-d00d offered to have my address book transferred from the old phone to the new one for me, and foolishly, I handed him my old phone. Sometime in the past couple of weeks, a configuration change occurred upstream of my mail server, unbeknownst to me. This change appears to have resulted in at least some, and possibly all, of my outgoing mail being silently dropped. Now I am aware of the problem I have routed around it, so my outgoing mail now works again. Sadly, I have no way ( Read more... )
