Jeremy Blake is/was one of my favorite contemporary artists. He did work for Beck's album, Sea Change, as well as the computer animations in Punch-Drunk Love. He is the artist of the backgrounds on both my myspace and livejournal (which are stills from his animated paintings) which I've used and admired for the past few years.
