boots suck, soft tissue damage sucks, ignoring it and having permanent damage that is never, ever going to get anything but worse is, well...worse. and going to PT does suck except you get amazing footrubs and a great exercise out of it. that said, wearing a boot *all the time* seems counterproductive. the point is to keep mindfully and carefully using the muscles and tendons to keep them supple and strong, not to let them wither away, ffs. good luck with the damn boot and with your ankles overall. a lot of PT you can do at home, by the way, so you might only need to go for a few sessions to get a printout of the exercises, the resistance bands, and see exactly how the exercises need to be done. (sometimes the printouts just aren't clear enough for me, so i need a live person to stop me before i develop bad habits.) disclaimer: i am not a physical therapist and your situation may be more severe/specialized than any of the ones i've been in or around, of course.

i do not remember what it is like to feel great in my body or to ( ... )

My exercise forms always degrade if I haven't been monitored by an expert for long.

Her thing about restrictive boots was more like boots that go up my calf and cover my ankles, not the podiatric clunker I'm currently in, which is reserved for fresh injuries. I have a pair of Doc Martens but breaking them in is a nightmare; hilariously, some of it is the worst around the ankle parts.

Today's visit with her to confer with her about my MRI was more hopeful.
