I've worn this shirt for a few years, but today for the first time someone told me "Nice Joy Division shirt!", showing he understood what the image is a play off of.

I've had Sarah McLachlan's "Possession" as an earworm for days, the piano as much as the voice and lyrics, and it always takes me back to my halcyon, early due South days, the ( Read more... )

due South is the fandom of my heart and my forever fandom. I wish I'd found it earlier when convos, fic, meta, and RL meetups were constantly happening, and I wish I'd known you earlier to have tried to plan a NOLA meetup.

I <3 your dS fic so much, and your Borderlands (One for Sorrow) series is something I <3 so intensely that I can't even.

That's so awesome that you two have stayed in touch so long! IRL friendships based on fandom are so awesome. Most of mine I only met IRL within the past few days, but they are some of my best relationships :)

I miss those days...really anything by Sarah McLachlan will send me back. God, fandom was so intense and immersive back then. And it didn't help that Fraser himself was such an intense fellow.

Fandom continues to feel intense and immersive to me (modding dS panels at several cons a year, modding the dSSS, participating in the dSC6D BB, writing dSC6D fic, participating in the creation of dS vids, getting zined, monthly dSC6D fangirl dinner), but I get the sense from longer-in-fandom fen that there was some kind of expansiveness and some kind of coherence that is now lacking.
