When I walked outside today I smelled the air and it was "Ah, Spring!" But then my face and sinuses started to ache, turning it into "Augh, Spring!" Which helped me realize that my recent days of feeling weak and shaky might be a bout of my old Spring thing, which, like so many of my other physical problems, I'd optimistically hoped would be fixed ( Read more... )

my maple trees are starting to put out those little budlet things they do before the flitterbees start up (the seed wings, whatever you call them) and the peeper frogs in the forest have hatched are started chirping at night. I can remember it snowing on Memorial day one year though (we happened to have tickets to the 500 race that year, and froze our asses off watching the race) so it doesn't necessarily mean anything.

things don't have to be blooming for your allergies to act up, it just getting up above 40 and all that snow melt and mud can result in earth mold that will bother you, or so says my allergist.

Nah, I know. My Spring allergies usually start near the beginning of March, when you can't see any signs of the incoming season. It just turned really bad this week. Today I couldn't even get out of bed from how awful and weak I felt, and my entire head was on fire. If I'm suffering so terribly, I'd like to have pretty things to see in exchange. Instead, we just have some buds on trees and a few green blades of grass.

I also have some other allergies that hit me during the Winter, so I'm on Allegra all year long. I have Fall allergies too....
