Disappointments

With the ridiculous T&A, highly busy art style, and confusing story lines, the Get Backers manga ceased making much sense to me sometime around the insect clans plot. So is that now ended and continuing in Get Backers Infinity Fortress, which so far seems to be going both backwards and forwards in time? Is Infinity Fortress a retcon ( Read more... )

Yep, a few insect clans. There's a major fight at the Insect Palace. It's in the 20s volumes of the series, but like I said the art style is busy and everything takes forever to resolve. I doubt you'll be thrilled by all the giant, barely clad breasts either. I like breasts and I'm annoyed by 'em.

At least the two of them are undead, so it makes a bit more sense!

Your comment about the characters in D-Gray Man just randomly pulling new powers out of their asses has made me realize why I like Naruto so much. Most anime seem to follow the same practice, sudden uber-boss? Why let me use my ultra-secret never-before-seen super-pinky-poke and win the day! YAY!

Naruto actually shows that the characters train to acquire their skills. There is actual work involved. And even then, sometimes the super-pinky-poke is just not enough and they... gasp of horror... lose . There are a lot of anime that i lose interest in because of just this reason. Thank you for helping me to clarify my understanding of my own brain... a task which for me, is sometimes completely hopeless.

I totally understand that. I hated Sasuke for how he kept getting amazing powers, but I'm fond of Naruto, Rock Lee, and Hinata for how hard they've worked for what they have.

I'm glad I could help, however inadvertantly. *g*
