I loved how they outed Keanu and Swayze's characters in POINT BREAK. The homoerotic video night was hilarious. I also loved the insane gore of the murders, especially the gargoyle-to-the-head bit, and Tim Dalton's hilariously non-fatal injury...
The WICKER MAN in-joke with Pegg and Edward Woodward was neat too *g*
I felt that Keanu and Swayze's characters were as out as you could get! You could feel the whole theater wondering if the film would Go There during the video night scene. The gargoyle to the head bit made me feel like I was back in Grindhouse. *g* The steeple! Hahahaahahahaha! "Ow! It... hurts...."
I got the feeling my audience would not have minded one bit if the film had Gone There *g*
Also loved the swan's revenge *g*
You should see THE WICKER MAN. Prolly the best, most original and unsettling British horror film ever. And Christopher Lee manaages to be sinister whilst in full drag. Plus it has a surprising lot of musical numbers- really!
btw- on no account see this year's remake with Nick Cage, which is the second worst remake I've ever seen after the blasphemous "re-imagining" of THE FOG
