Grant Wood probably had to really apologise a lot to his sister for the picture, that is seriously not the most flattering perspective. The way he elongated her face suits the picture, but she might have been a bit miffed.

He really nailed the guy. They do not look like happy people though. lol. I wonder what they thought of the painting?

His sister looks so much sweeter in RL than in the painting, and not so severe. Very nice painting technique.
