Unknown-James Abresch

Jul 01, 2011 23:12

I got a wedding album from the 1940's in a free box at a yard sale. In the back of it was this print. It's stamped on the back "Kindly Give credit to James Abresch." I've tried to find out more about him but all I've been able to find is that he took portraits of famous people. Does anyone know who the woman in this picture is?

She's a dead ringer for Lauren Bacall but I'm not sure...

I thought it was Betty too at first glance but it's not.

Hummm, could be young Lauren Bacall.

Face shape is close, the nose and lips look right and the eye shape looks good too. Problem for me is the eyebrow shape is off. Of course, with the right plucking, shaping and eyebrow pencil they can be changed.

Bacall was my first thought, too, but she'd have to have been very young. She doesn't have that command, yet, if it's her. Does that make sense?

At first glance she looks like a young Bette Davis.
