In the Victorian-Edwardian period, long hair was a woman's crowning glory. Then along came the 1920s and off went the hair. I suspect many women said, "Good riddance!"
An ethereal, dreamy portrait of the Moore sisters -- Decima, Eva, Bertha, and Jessie -- all of them musical performers on the British stage in the early 1900s. This is a commercial real photo postcard from 1905.
I got a wedding album from the 1940's in a free box at a yard sale. In the back of it was this print. It's stamped on the back "Kindly Give credit to James Abresch." I've tried to find out more about him but all I've been able to find is that he took portraits of famous people. Does anyone know who the woman in this picture is?
