I began the Hexacomb Cardigan on Tuesday. Instead of knitting it in the suggested cotton, I'm using wool. I wanted to make something with Whiskey ever since I first saw it in Ariadne, and now that dream has become a reality.

Here's my last bit of knitting for the Fire element, a pair of Hederas.

I tried to make Hederas before, but the 4 row pattern repeat seemed too clunky. This time though, I had it memorized by the cuff. In fact, these socks flew off the needles in a mere thirteen days.

Over a year ago, Wendy put out a call for 30 words to inspire a new set of paintings. I provided a word that was pretty important to me that time : Relief. I've knit some really nice lace in my time ( Gold & Grace, Nubles, Cherry Red, Melon Scarf, Elaine, Woodland), but faced with the VLT Knitalong on January 1st my urge to knit lace sort of imploded. I've bought some lovely laceweight yarn in the past few months, but lace takes a lot of concentration, and I've been trying to knit socially more often. ( Read more... )

I finished the Fire Clapotis last night and now I'll have something obscenely pink for my triumphant return to Toronto, the place where I bought the obscenely pink yarn in the first place.

Since last week or so I've been knitting on two new projects : a Fire Clapotis and some No Purl Monkeys for my mother. They have a twelve and an eleven row pattern repeat (respectively), so I've been doing about one pattern repeat on each project each night.
