I went into HMV during lunch today to enter to the horrible sounds of Mark Ronson's re-imagining of 'Just'. It was painful but headed straight down to the vinyl section to see what was out. The man next to me was picking up everything, I had to look to see what he was doing. It was Mark Ronson

i dislike mark's album but 'back to black' is undoubtedly my favourite album of recent years, so THERE.

Well Mr Anonymous,

I have never heard 'Back to Black' but I can quite easily believe Amy's talent and personality could quite easily transcend into a good record no matter who was producing it. He is probably much to blame for the only thing I dislike about her and that is her retro sound.
Amy on the Brits, although quite obviously very nervous exuded much more personality and talent than any of the others that took to the stage that night. Lots of performers, Adele, Rihanna etc proved they could sing -well woopie doo- but were void of charisma, personality and anything distinctive that hard work and genuine talent provide. I found that whole show depressing. It was like watching Pop Idol, but that is the way to make money these days isn't it?
Ooh I went off tangent, very Carrie Bradshaw -well I hope as I don't actually watch that show.

well yes the songs are great whatever the production. but a retro sound isn't always a bad thing. the bravery, for example, have a retro 80s sound.

Adele and Rihanna can't hold a stage, true. But they're both 19/20, so give them time. I know there are some very young stars who have naturally been able to do it, but plenty more who need to grow into it.
