I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you for Tuesday, Verlinda. At the moment almost nothing is flying in or out of Northern Europe and they're being very cagey about when things will start to move again. Horrible timing for you.

glad your tutoring's going so well V. I'd like to retire from my mad job and do that - it's so satisfying to have time to develop one strong relationship and make a difference. Good on you!

Not you too?!? It seems lots of people I know are affected by this ash cloud!
It would be horrible if you had to miss the wedding! No such thing as a do-over for that, sadly...

Around these parts they're now trying out how flying goes (with empty planes) and it has been suggested to open up airports and partially pick up the schedule again. They'd then limit it to only flying during daylight for now, to be able to see the cloud(s) and anticipate on that.

I am most definitely keeping my fingers and toes and eyes crossed for you!

Oooh, you're coming over?? Will cross fingers and send up some prayers that you manage to get on a flight.

How long do you plan to stay and any chance you might be near North West England????

Thanks for the prayers; I'm supposedly leaving Chicago Tuesday afternoon, arriving in London Wednesday morning early (apx 7 AM) and then in Kent/Bromley area for a wedding through Tuesday the 27th.

This time around, I'm not staying that long--just literally flying in for the wedding and then back home. If my flight doesn't make it (and I'm expecting that to happen), I'll be coming over--most likely--in September, like I did the last time I was over in 2008, and will be there a bit longer then.

I'd love to meet up with you next time I come for one of my longer trips--maybe this fall!

I so, so hope so! I'm praying too, but even if I don't, I *WILL* be coming over later in the year to see you and yours again, and have a proper visit.
