Home from England!

Oct 17, 2008 05:48

I got in last night after a wonderful 2 weeks in England, where I stayed with the lovely serenasnape and her family, and the equally lovely caffyolay and hubby.

Stories and pictures to come, but it was a super, magical time!

Now that I've slept off my almost 24-hour day yesterday, I'll be baking today, and going to see "As You Like It" tomorrow.

friends, england, baking, home, travel

Glad you got back safely - hope the flight went well.

Happy baking and I hope your cake stall goes well tomorrow - we'll be on our way to Penzance of course.

Thanks--the flight was fine, although the flight from London to Chicago landed almost 25 minutes late, so I had a mad dash through O'Hare to get through Immigration, Customs, to Terminal 3, go through security and make it to my gate.

I've made 2 Honeybun cakes, 4 loaves of banana bread, and have 2 more cakes to make after dinner.

Have a great time in Penzance!

Love to S, J & P. How's his finger?

Welcome back! And thank you for the postcard - Zack was thrilled. But now I can't get him to stop saying "Pip pip cheerio!" :-D

I had it going over--I got to London about 10 AM on Tuesday, September 30 and was really tired, but I forced myself to stay up all day to get my body clock on England time.

Coming home was not so bad--a friend picked me up at the airport, then we went to eat dinner at the bistro in Davis-Kidd (local bookstore)--he commented that I really looked tired (this was about 7 PM after a day that started in England at midnight Memphis time), so I went home and slept for about 9-10 hours.

I'm pretty much recovered now--but going to bed early still, to get everything in optimum working order. :)
