( I hate the fact that the only people who consider me worthwhile are the ones whose very pause to consider me seems to disqualify them from being what I need them to be. What I want, or need, is the kind of person whose very nature won't want me. )

It's a lot you ask of people. As we grow more experienced/jaded in life, we are more careful about the people we choose to befriend. Friendships are investments, and some kind of consistent return is expected over time. If we hear from other people that a potential friend can be a "creep" (your word choice) but not always, it might not be a good idea to make that investment--especially if it's just a matter of time before it happens ( ... )

I appreciate the thoughtful response; that right there means a lot, and that's before the content is considered. I haven't digested it yet, but it's valuable input.

...And you're right with the video. I recognize those eyes.
