Negative Spoons Day

Aug 05, 2012 11:15

On the outside, I'm just like other people. This makes my life harder sometimes, because on the inside, I am not. Nothing popped up on the link for me, but I think I get the gist. And, yeah, there's a huge gap in understanding that most people have about folks who look physically fine. If you look fine, why are you complaining? I AM fine, but I have friends with chronic conditions and it makes me want to punch people sometimes, hearing those things.

Sorry, I didn't check the link before reusing it, if you would like to read it after all, this is the correct link.

Thank you. It's frustrating to have to explain and so I frequently lie about my reasons, also because I have a mental health disorder and I don't want everyone looking at me like I'm crazy :(.

Just read this, bb.

I'm with you, i hear you. Counting spoons is exhausting, because you always have to make surveyor have enough. I'm sorry today is one of your out of spoon days. *hugs*

I kind of saw it coming, you know? But then it hit me hard anyway, because well, duh, I overdid it for a long time. Will now puddle and be nothing for a bit ;).

I remember a few years ago, I was sitting in class trying to be on top of things, because I don't even know what it feels like to be rested anymore but some days are harder than others, and the girl next to me asked if I was okay. I told her I was just tired and she said, almost accusingly, "You're always tired."

I wanted to tell her that, yes, I am, and she should be grateful she's healthy in that way and doesn't know what it's like, but I didn't have enough spoons for that.

tl;dr: Our situations are different, but I feel you.

Oh, yes, "you're always tired!" as if that means you're just whining. Ugh.

Thank you.
