As someone tracking small-animal, therio was just painful! I still don't understand why I couldn't just answer every dog or cat question with "recommend spay/neuter." :)
Try not to be too hard on yourself about grades. I know they help with scholarships and landing internships, but they really do not reflect on what kind of vet you'll be. When I first started vet school I told my husband that my goal was to always meet the class average. His response? "Oh, so you can be in the top 1/2 of the top 1%." That was a big reality check for me. Everyone in vet school is bloody brilliant, so if you can keep up and maintain a quasi-normal life, in a lot of ways, you're doing far better than the few 4.0s.
I got a huge kcik when they insisted on a canine semen-collection lab and insisted this would be something we "will have to do everyday" in practice. I just thought "not if I'm doing my job right!"
I know I won't be perfect all the time; I didn't care much about this class so it was hard to focus. I guess it is just stereotypical that vet students tend to have high standards for themselves. I just hate when I could have a reasonable and intelligent conversation with someone on a topic, but get completely tripped but my bloody multiple-choice question.

Am I remembering correctly that you'll be local in the near future, or is that just wishful thinking?
