ARRRRRRRRRRRR~!!!

I know everyone on LJ has exploded with their thoughts on Dead Man's Chest today, and I find I agree with just about everyone by turns (with the additional comment that I do like brainless action fluff too, so the hurty bits for the nay-sayers didn't really kill anything for me). I will say this, though ( Read more... )

Ooh, I just came back from seeing it myself. I thought it was OK. Funny and cool but too long, some angst I didn't really care about, and Norrington suddenly became a creep. Plus I rolled my eyes everytime some unexpected character from the first movie turned up.

But yes, lots more juicy potential slash stuff. Especially with that new bad guy talking vaguely about leaving marks on Jack and vice-versa.

The minute he was asked about the marks Jack left on him, I gestured to my friend sitting next to me with the ol' pumping fist around the finger of my other hand.

And then the Kraken raped everybody.

And and AND Will's shirt is rent violently from his back by two ruthless men, exposing him to the elements and a good flogging. Can't forget that. (Whaddya MEAN you weren't "going to see it??")

*snickers* "Daddyspanked" XD To be honest, the whole daddy!angst didn't do all that much for me, but then I was perfectly content with Will-flogging, no matter who was doing it. Though I guess it was better the bosun didn't. I don't know that that level of bloodplay would've been that hot.

That said, GUH. It's been four hours since I've left the theater, and it appears all I've really taken from that movie is Will!flogging ^__^;; Agh. Bondage. Shirt-rending from that flawless expanse of BACK. Orlando whimpering O_O *nosebleeds*

Maybe I'm just remembering things differently now that I've had time to romanticize, but I'd happily pay to re-check that ^_^

I NEED TO BEAT HANS ZIMMER WITH THE FIRST SOUNDTRACK UNTIL HE BLEEDS

I still can't tell if he was trying to essentially... do what Badelt did with that quasi-contemporary rock edge to the (probably synth) orchestra, or if he was trying to incorporate that into his usual sound (lotsa Gladiator-esque dun DUN dun dunDUNDUN's) or.. well, I'm fairly certain he wasn't just doing his usual thing. Normally, I quite like Zimmer, and I can pinpoint him as a movie's composer most of the time. POTC2 just... no. Completely unremarkable. Kind of unpleasant, sometimes.

(Don't beat him too badly! We still need him for every upcoming Hollywood historical adventure piece, and I don't know if James Horner still has it in him... Oh who am I kidding, it's probably Zimmer who's running out of steam -_-)

I remember when Pirates first came out and a lot of people were accusing Badelt of copying Zimmer's style, especially in The Gladiator Waltz and the main Pirates theme... they are similar, but honestly, I think Badelt has an edge that Zimmer doesn't really have anymore. And yes, definitely unpleasant. The music really ruined it even more for me.

(Well, sadly enough, I'm half expecting John Williams to do the music for the final movie.)

Really? All I heard about the first soundtrack was that critics were crashing down on it for being so bizarrely contemporary. That and the synth. Except that I liked the melodies, so I didn't find much cause to complain--damn catchy tunes, they were. And honestly, I'd have never drawn a connection between the two composers, so that surprises me that one was being made O_O

(*laughs* Well, it'd be sure to be distinctively triumphant and heavy on the brass ^_^;; Overly so, probably. I keep forgetting John Williams is alive. ... He is, isn't he?)

Angry sex comes to an abrupt, screeching, crash-test-dummy-type collision end when Jack sees those lash marks. There's the pause. The touching. The asking. The kissing. The licking. The resumption of sex, slow, then frantic, then explosive.

AAAAAAAAAAAA. AAAAAAAAAAA. AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA.

You're evil, damn it. *sobs at the beauty of the mental images*

I.. I dare say, I cannot beat that. I can, however, ruminate on the images you've given me for the entire 5 hour drive to Santa Barbara, and perhaps do something about them once I arrive. If I'm not too drunk to do so. And.. probably even if I am. [/ramble]

Daaaaaah I don't know whyyyy but Jack inspecting bruises/lash marks/anything hurty on Will is such a THING for me. Must be something about the way Jack's got such an extensive collection of his own, or maybe it's just an underlying current of liking cruel things to happen to Will (so Jack can make it all better, natch). Either way, yipe! *flails like running!Jack ( ... )
