The Ultimate Vehicle For Cabbage

 Some time ago, I began making a cabbage, rice and lentil casserole and inflicting it upon my cabbage-resistant spouse.

The somewhat less than optimal response led to me adding a portion of the cheezy sauce from kittee 's blog  as a top layer. This turned the casserole into what was judged "an acceptable vehicle for cabbage".

Do you think alfredo type sauce would go well, or are you talking like cheese-wiz variety (all vegan of course)?

I see no reason why it wouldn't do perfectly well. This is a very forgiving recipe. I've added a layer of faux cheez in between the cabbage layers and added a white sauce with nutritional yeast; used the sauces referred to above; poured nutritional yeast sauce over diced cheez... it's all come out well.

I can see a layer of mashed potato mixed with cheezy goodness working well as either an internal layer or topping, too.
