butterscotch cupcakes?

hello all. i'm going to make cupcakes for a friend's 21st birthday, and she's requested butterscotch. unfortunately, i've never heard of such a recipe, and google has been pretty unhelpful. any suggestions?

(i was also thinking of maybe just doing plain vanilla cupcakes with butterscotch icing... what do you guys think?)definitely going with the

Vote for the icing- flavoring bread requires a lot more flavor than some icing.

Is butterscotch pudding vegan? I know you can make cookies that way. I saw a recipe on egglesscooking.com. Maybe you can do that for cupcakes too?!

i don't recall offhand what the preparation instructions for this is, but i'm sure you'd just have to add the milk of your choice:

(normally i'm not crazy about mixy things in boxes, but butterscotch seems to be just one of those things?) I'd imagine there's some sort of sweet cooked frosting you could do as well...

most instant pudding mixes don't work with non-dairy milk. Be sure to find the kind you cook.

Food Lion in the southeast has vegan butterscotch chips. You could add them if you can get some.
