butterscotch cupcakes?

hello all. i'm going to make cupcakes for a friend's 21st birthday, and she's requested butterscotch. unfortunately, i've never heard of such a recipe, and google has been pretty unhelpful. any suggestions?

(i was also thinking of maybe just doing plain vanilla cupcakes with butterscotch icing... what do you guys think?)
