Sunflower-oat patties -- vegan burgers for the trail

My husband and I recently went backpacking in the Appalacian mountains. Before we left, I made a dry veggie burger mix and put it in a Ziploc bag. Once we were ready to eat, all I did was dump some water into the bag, mix it up, form it into patties, and cook it over the fire. Ooh, this sounds great! How many burgers does it make? Did you invent the recipe or did it come from somewhere else?

Keeping a bag around for quick meals seems like a great idea (though I'd probably store it in the fridge or freezer because of the raw seeds). But it looks so yum, I dunno how long it'd last.

This also inspires me to get going with doing more with the gallon or so of dried okara that's been waiting to be used... (and it just keeps growing! :)
