Creme Fraiche and Cheesecake

Jul 30, 2008 17:15

Hey guys,

I'm not normally big on using substitutes but really want to make a good lettuce and pea soup. Is there anything I could use as a creme fraiche substitute to hold the soup together a bit? Particularly something available in the UK.

Also, does anyone know how to make a good cheesecake without using tofu?

Thanks x

How about a half/half of soy yoghurt and soy cream?

I've never made a raw cheesecake, but the ones I have had are to DIE for. I believe they use cashews . . .

Oh yes. I use this recipe (first post) and it's so, so amazing.

I've never made this rather unlikely recipe for cheesecake, but I've heard consistently stellar reviews of it.

I also added a tag to the post so it would show up on future searches. I think it predates use of tags on here...

I've made it and it was pretty darn good. The texture was really nice. I want to experiment with it and use chocolate and maybe some orange zest.

use a cashew creme. you can use a raw cashew butter to make it quick - maybe ask raw_veganism for the best method...
