LJ Idol 9, Week 9: Keep Calm and End This Meme

Does anybody else miss the days when Frank, the LJ mascot, was having a romance with Meme the Sheep? Okay, so in actuality, I barely even read those things and thought they were kinda dumb, so I guess what I miss is LJ's heyday, before it became this desert wasteland of ONTD and people who will never leave because they shelled out for permanent

I forgot about Meme the sheep! I miss the old LJ too, but I 'm part of the problem, spending time elsewhere now too.

I don't get Pinterest either. And FB archiving is crap.

My little corner of LJ has been having a renaissance (partly sparked by me doing a post-every-day thing and putting the links on FB), and I don't think it's just us -- the addme communities have picked up a LOT in the past 6 months. I don't think LJ will ever be the 'in thing to do' again but I feel like it's getting closer what it used to be as people are realizing that other social media just doesn't fill the same space. There's a lot of dusty corners but a lot of real journalers too.

I have another journal that I've set to update FB whenever I post. It gets readers, but not a lot of comments as most people post Over There instead of Over Here.

I may do the post-a-day with updates on this journal just to see if I can get some people to wander back over. I miss talking to them.
