Yet N still walked up to him, his head clear of crowns, cat ears, and even his baseball cap. He had stuffed his hands in his pockets to hide his nervousness, the confidence he had displayed just a few days earlier gone with his crown.
The boy stopped a few feet away from Silver, not completely meeting his eyes when he glanced at him.
"...hey."

He thinks of Gold's words, and those of Minato and Aniki...their faith wars with his own considerations of humanity. What does he do?
His own fingers twitch. Then he slowly takes one of the Pokeballs off of his belt and crouches down, placing it into Silver's palm.

"...Thanks." It's mumbled, more under his breath than anything, and he's not looking at N, rather the 'sky'. If one knows Silver, it's typical avoidance of something or ten that's on his mind.

It doesn't surprise her all that much.
So when she goes to find Silver in the aftermath, and finds him at the lake, she doesn't speak a word. She approaches, with enough noise to let him know she was there, and gently reaches out, touching his shoulder with the very tips of her fingers.

Then why does he feel so much more guilty now that she's Here and not just a mostly easy thought that can be shoved aside? He should not - he doesn't need to impress anyone at all. He never had never will.
"... Yes?" Both his face and voice are stone cold - not that it's much different from his normally demeanour.

And he squashes the part that wants to know. Because it was a stupid curse, and he didn't really care for having a minion. Even if he knows that it's false, that the curse just amplified parts of his behaviour.]
