8th Journey // In which Sora and Co give pirates a warm welcome

When the night comes alive with ghosts and ghouls, Sora is of course at the heart of it all, sprinting

[Gingerly walking along the edge of a nearby building, Kefka watched the chaos below with such glee. Ever since that miserable bat vanished from Vatheon, the clown was feeling a tad bored. There was nothing for Kefka to do besides occasionally zap a few pedestrians here and there. Thus, to see this endless swarm of ghostly ghouls descend upon the plaza made his heart skip with joy.]

Not bad~!

[He called to Sora from above.]

You're pretty good for a little twerp.

[Without an ounce of fear, Kefka walked off the edge of the ledge and plummeted towards the streets below. However, instead of falling to his death, the clown hovered in mid-air.]

Although, I can do better~

ohoho Kefka certainly qualifies as badass, yessss?

[Sora lifts his eyes to the sky where Kefka hovers over them. There's a ghost of a smile, one that doesn't even disappear when a pirate brings a sword down on his keyblade. Sora strikes him down, and defends against another while he speaks.]

Yeah? Think so, Kefka?

Indeed he does~

[madlydancing]

Do I?

[A soft chuckle came from him as lowered himself towards the ground. While the ghouls were now making their trek over towards him, Kefka decided now was the time to show off his awesome powers.]

I KNOW SO!

[Before Sora or the ghouls could realize, several bolts of lightning crashed down from above. It was a simple Thundaga spell, but be damned if it doesn't hurt.]

Come on, let's play~! The one to kill the most 'uglies' win!

then me. right here. ordered badassery. How much do I owe you for ?

[lockandkeyblade]

[Who can kill the most pirates? Now that's a game Sora's willing to play, especially if it means Kefka's magic is directed at someone else besides him.]

You sure you wanna play, Kefka? I'm not gonna go easy on you, even if you ask nicely.

[meat_gum]

[Darting through the city herself, Chie spots a friend in trouble and absolutely must go help. Right away.]

PERSONA!

[A bright blue flash, and abruptly, the pirates immediately surrounding Sora and the couple are running around in firey agony from a well-placed Agnestyne from Suzuka Gongen's double-headed lightsaber. Chie doesn't stop, though, punting pirates left and right with no signs of tiring.]

ALL OUT ATTACK?

[Sora's taken aback by both the appearance of a mysterious badass looking entity, and the physical prowess of his friend as she takes down the pirates with ease.]

Chie!?

YES. FUCK YES.

[meat_gum]

[Chie just tosses him an easy grin, the fire of a good fight burning in her eyes.]

Heya, Sora! Looked like you could use a little help!

We sure could!

Guess these guys didn't like us checking out their pirate ship the other day. They seem pretty mad.

[sweepered]

[The pirates aren't the only one on rooftops-or with pistols, for that matter. There's a certain 'cat' attracted to the heights as well, and he's more than ready for a fight.

And so, with a few sudden and well-aimed shots, the pirates will find their guns knocked out of their hands. Without hesitation, Train fires again, but this time directly at the pirates. Nowhere vital, though. A shoulder here, a thigh there-enough to keep them distracted in pain for a while, but enough to kill them.

A grin, and-]

Hey! Need some help?

[lockandkeyblade]

[To Sora's surprise, first a pair of pistols come clattering down around them from overhead. And a pirate or two even follow, having been too close to the edge of the roof when they were fired upon by Train.]

[A grin blossoms on Sora's face, one mirroring train's own.]

Sure, if you're not busy!

[sweepered]

Only thing I'm busy with is kicking these guy's asses!

[Ah, how he's missed a good fight. He reloads his gun, before jumping down, easily kicking down a pirate who immediately tries to attack him.]

[And Train, here's where Sora's specialty lies. Alone, Sora is good. But with a partner, he's even better. For a moment, Sora watches Train, eyes following his movements, his footwork, his fighting style. It's clear that Train has been in his share of tough battles because they are smooth, calculated and certain.]

[And that's when Sora falls into step. Even as he speaks, he's taking down pirates at Train's back. He's pretty sure Train's can watch his own blind spots, but the thing about having a partner is that he doesn't have to.]

I dunno. Sounds tough. Wouldn't wanna bother you if your hands are full.

get ready for some BOXING

[akihikos]

[And just like that, dodging around the pirates to meet Sora at his side, is Akihiko, gloves on and ready for a fight.]

Let's do this.

[He takes out a gun, or something that looks like a gun, and presses it to his head.]

Caesar!

[And there is his Persona, Caeser, dealing out Mazionga, a heavy electric attack on all enemies.]

Boxing vs Kung Fu! Ready, fight!

[meat_gum]

[Chie's off to the side, but is completely pinged by the appearance of a strange persona, and she fights her way over that way to see who it was.]

...! Akihiko, I didn't know you had a persona!

LETS DO THIS

[akihikos]

[He looks so proud, but he's never taking his eyes off of his enemies.]

You have one too, then?

[Because that's the only actual reason that she could know what a persona is --

WHOA THERE HEY GHOST

he's just going to give it the good old uppercut with his fist.]

YOSHHH!

[lockandkeyblade]

[Sora gives Akihiko confident nod when he appears at Sora's side. As Akihiko devastates the pirates with electricity attacks, he widens his stance and hurls his keyblade at the pirates in a Strike Raid to finish them off.]

[He pauses for a moment, watching these guys fight. Gotta be some kinda heroes.]

Persona? Is that what those things are?

[flutterbyfool]

[Who better to save his ass than Haruka? Actually, he can probably see her right now, just behind a pirate, a gun pointed to her head. Her face is serious and unafraid as she pulls the trigger.

Abruptly, the High Pixie appears, and lightning rains down on the pirates, stunning a couple of them. Haruka leaps over to where Sora is, her naginata deadly glinting in the low light of the night.]

I've got your back! Clear a path moving toward the safety area, and I'll cover you!

[lockandkeyblade]

[When Sora sees Haruka behind the pirates, he frowns. It's nothing alarming to see her out and about, it just means he'll have to protect her too. But his heart skips a beat, and a terrible chill runs up his spine when he sees her press the evoker against her head. It looks like she's trying to kill herself in front of him and Sora's voice is desperate and horrified. She's already dead in the real world and now she's going to erase herself from existence here too?!]

Haruka!!

[... but when the shot rings out, Haruka is still standing. She is still alive. Sora is in shock. He can't even respond to her commands.]

[flutterbyfool]

[She knows it's a shock, she really does, and can sympathize with him. However, they have no time to talk, and she ruthlessly cuts into one of the pirates that tried to make a dash for the couple.]

Sora! I'll explain later, I promise, just go clear a path to the safe zone!

[Haruka's using her serious leader tone, now.]

[lockandkeyblade]

[Sora nods and with a bright flash, Sora reverts to one of his drive forms. When the light clears, Sora's clothes are blue and he hovers inches above the ground, gliding smoothly as he charges ahead. Flames sear into the group of pirates as Sora uses his magic, scattering them enough to clear a way. He looks back at the couple...]

Come on!

[... and fires off magic from his keyblade at any nearby pirates who try to chase after the escaping pair.]

[Overhead, two pirates creep to the edge of the rooftops, their pistols aimed down at Sora.]
