I'm still alive. Still reading most every day but not commenting.
School is eating my brain. I work 10 hour days. I never sit down. I don't drink nearly enough coffee.
But I love my kids...most of them...most of the time. All 700 of them. I even know some of their names.
Basically I'm living the dream. :)

World Choir Games
The 2012 World Choir Games is in Cincinnati at the moment. We are the first North American city (or anywhere in the Western Hemisphere for that matter) to host the games.
I signed up months ago, maybe even a year ago, to be a volunteer. I was placed as a Japanese language guide. Unfortunately only 1 choir from Japan came. Fortunately they were ( Read more... ) -

This year was the big 3-0 for me. Several times in the last year I've ranted and raved a bit about how our family is lame and we don't make a big deal about birthdays. So in some crazy fluke I won $250 at a contest at work. A contest in which I did absolutely nothing to encourage sales in the particular customer I was assigned because when I inquired my account manager said there was nothing to be done. I PASSED! I PASSED! Somehow despite having a SWOLLEN face (see below) and what felt like a complete and utter bombing of the speech section I actually passed the Praxis II. So ENT thinks my sinus infection isn't really a sinus infection. The dentist says my teeth are beautiful and very healthy so it's not an abcess. My latest theory regarding my swollen cheek and jaw is that the muscle spasms I sometimes get in my shoulder and neck thanks to degenerative disc disease have migrated to my face. Am sickly
Wii Fit told me on Sunday that I am 2 years younger than I really am and that my BMI is 21.5 - a very healthy range. Then it told me I should try to be 10 pounds lighter. The mind boggles. If I were to lose even 5 pounds I would look sickly. 10 pounds and I would look like a cancer patient. This is one reason why BMI is ridiculous ( Read more... )
