I'm still alive. Still reading most every day but not commenting.

School is eating my brain. I work 10 hour days. I never sit down. I don't drink nearly enough coffee.

But I love my kids...most of them...most of the time. All 700 of them. I even know some of their names.

Basically I'm living the dream. :)

How are you lot?

I feel like I'm 80 instead of 30 - going to bed every night at 9:00.

Sympathies on your long days.

I'm about ready to kill half my work place. But hey, what's new with that...

Your situation sounds so sucky! I haven't been commenting but I've been reading. My job isn't perfect but I really do like my students.

Supposedly it will get better. I do see teachers leaving at 3 so I guess they are either horrible teachers or it really does get better. ;)

Teaching is so cool, isn't it?

Hey! :)
Glad to hear from you again. I haven't been around much either.

Wow, so you're a teacher again? Is it very different from Japan?

I'm doing ok. I'm still in Japan, soon going into my 6th year.
Traveling like crazy recently (within Japan).

Yes, I am teaching Spanish to elementary students in Kentucky. It's the same and different in a lot of ways. It's the same in that I see a LOT of students (almost 700) and only once a week - that's what my job was like as an ALT too. But it's different in that I don't have the homeroom teacher there to help me with classroom management. And the special ed students are with the regular students rather than having their own separate class. I really like it - I am just very busy and very tired all of the time.

I've been reading your LJ. Have you decided if you will go home this year?

I see. I can imagine it.
This is actually something I might consider, too.
It might be difficult in Germany, but one of my friends was a German teacher in Switzerland and she also was super busy and always tired :/ ....
I hope despite all that you enjoy it! ^__^

Not this year. Definitely not.
I'm currently thinking about 2013, but I'm not fixed on a date yet ^-^;
