I'm posting this because I wanted to fill that empty spot where there were no comments. Excellent chapter; love the introduction of Thomas, and the very last line is so Housian that I let out a bellow of laughter when I read it. Too lazy/tired to say much else but you know how much I appreciate every chapter of this story.

Now your comment section isn't so desolate.

Aww, thank you for filling my empty, gaping chasm of a heart . . . as well as my review space. I'm glad you liked the last line because it made me laugh too and Thomas' introduction, well . . . don't we all want to see a Nazi shirtless at some point? Jk. I've seen my neighbour shirtless enough times.

Thank you for re-reviewing!

I dunno - it would take me a lot to throw a couple of macadamia nut pancakes uneaten into the bin, even if they weren't made by Wilson :) (Though it is really sweet that he didn't want to be disloyal to Wilson by eating someone elses pancakes). I actually felt a bit bad for Cuddy here, she is just clueless as to what the problem is. Another great chapter and what House story would be complete without someone vomiting blood?

I do feel bad for Cuddy as well--and I'm so glad you do too, because I really didn't want to make her into an evil dictaor, y'know? She's a great character just, in my opinion, not the one for House. And yeah, it would be difficult to throw pancakes away . . . but we all know who House is loyal to, lol.

Vomiting blood. Mm. It's right up there next to oxygen, am I right?

Thanks for reviewing!

You've noticed everything that you should have noticed just as you were supposed to. Yes, House is started to resent himself for allowing Cuddy to oversee his decisions and resent their relationship and her as well. She does think he needs to change, but I don't want you to think it is solely self-motivated--I honestly believe she thinks that will make him happy, but I leave that up to each reader to decide.

Cuddy, being his boss, I think actually takes that . . . title home with her; she is "in control" at work and therefore expects it in her personal life as well.

You've noticed the pattern in Wilson's relationship with Sam which I'm glad of since I don't want the focus SOLELY on House, although naturally it will tend to focus a bit more on him.

Once again, thank you for your insightful review.

I couldn't read all of this until just now, but I am loving this story. Your insight into the characters is fascinating. As was mentioned by others, I liked that you could get into Cuddy's POV and the problems being in a relationship with House presents. My only tiny cavil (and I don't even know if you did it in this chapter) is calling Sam a harpy. House called her that without knowing her, and now it's become canon in every story. Just because the show's writers have no idea how to give her a personality doesn't mean she has to be a shrew.

The unraveling of H/W's relationships with their women and the raveling of their own (sorry, had to run with the metaphor) is beautifully done, and Thomas is an interesting character. Not spouting the usual cliche stuff neo-Nazis say when they're introduced into a story.

And the writing is mighty fine. Lots of subtle imagery and emotional truth. Sorry I didn't comment earlier! I know the pain of an empty comment space. :)

House calling Sam a harpy was because House, in canon, called her that. Therefore, that is what he thinks and since I was writing from his POV, then I referred to her as that. House is not going to suddenly like Sam because he too is in a relationship . . . I personally don't mind Sam. But I'm not writing as myself. i never said she was a shrew . . . but House, no matter who Wilson is dating, will not like her. It's not about how I feel about her; it's about how House has canonically referred to her as. I'm sorry you did not like it, but it's not a reflection on my opinion of Sam ( ... )

You misunderstand me. I don't expect House to like or even tolerate Sam. And I certainly don't hate you for writing her sympathetically! That would be incredibly refreshing, IMO.

One of the things I'm enjoying about this story is your ability to write from the various POVs in character. So I would hardly expect her POV to be "Mwuahahah, my plan to destroy James Wilson is working!" Like everybody in this story, she's in a difficult position. Part of why this is so good is that it is that the overview is so balanced, and nobody's motivations are black/white the way they are in so many other stories.

There is a welcome maturity and skill in your writing.

Oh okay. I just . . . have expected a little dislike in me not turning them into demons. Which is what I assumed you assumed I was doing, since there have been several people doing that in fics recently and so I expected people to either assume I was doing that as well . . . or dislike that I wasn't, but refreshingly people haven't reacted that way so far. (I'm paranoid.)

Thank you for your explanation!

I'm absurdly happy because House didn't ate Cuddy's pancakes XD I like the way this develops, bit by bit. And I'm little worry about this nazi. You know, Wilson is jewish. 0_0 Could be he in danger?

Taub, Wilson, and Cuddy are all Jewish. Thirteen is bisexual and Foreman is black. Nazis hate Jews, blacks, bis and gays . . . Anything that isn't a white Christian, basically, although you will find some who are more lenient in some areas than others. Yes, I intended for you to worry and no I am not going to reveal if anyone gets hurt, physically or otherise, by Thomas or his family.

But thanks for your review and worry about the characters!
