I just checked Arturo Pérez-Reverte’s Wikipedia entry to see whether anything new had been translated, which led me to amazon.co.uk, amazon.com and play.com until I realized that yes, the sixth Alatriste novel has apparently been published in the UK (not in Germany, but the German publisher is doing weird things with these novels anyway).

Whichever way you look at it, 31 translations of German-language literature were published in the USA in 2009, putting German at third place on the list of the most translated languages (after Spanish and French). [from love german books]

So, Anne Rice talks about a new Vampire Chronicles movie on her Facebook page. I’m not at all sold on this, especially having the last disastrous attempt in mind (Queen of the Damned). And considering that the books only go downhill from there, I suppose it’ll be really difficult to find some cohesive plot to actually put in such a movie. Interview ( Read more... )

I got back from my trip to Italy yesterday - just in time, because it seems the next ash cloud is on its way. I had a wonderful week, saw a lot and of course spent way too much money:)

Every few years, I get fed up with the way my book shelves are organized. Also, I can’t shake the impression that I just have to few of them.
