Moby Dick is one of those books I always planned on reading. So far, it hasn’t happened. It’s a big chunk of text and while I loved novels built like bricks when I was a teenager, I simply don’t have as much time as I used to.  So, it’s a nice surprise to find that there’s an audiobook project just starting where all kinds of VIPs read Moby Dick. Flavorwire has a pretty interesting article on words invented by authors. I, for example, didn’t know that the word nerd was first penned by Dr. Seuss. But that might just be my upbringing… we had other children’s book when I grew up.

I was a bit undecided what novels to take on vacation this time. For the past few years, I always took an Arturo Pérez-Reverte novel and there are still a few left that I haven’t read yet. In the end, the only advantage that will remain is the fact that you can carry a lot of books around with you. A while ago, Amazon announced that the Kindle was their number 1 best-selling product. Now, Barnes & Noble is saying the same about the Nook. They sold millions. MILLIONS!

I really should stop using Lovelybooks, it’s so depressing there. I feel totally out of place. I mean, how young and clueless must the general userbase be to create a list of vampire books without at least adding Dracula?
